Cookie Policy
Version 1.0.0 · Last updated 31 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how the CampusEduX website (https://campusedux.app) uses cookies and similar on-device storage. It applies to the website only — the CampusEduX mobile app does not use cookies.
CampusEduX uses only what the website needs to work. It does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies, and it does not sell or share cookie data for advertising.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. "Local storage" and "session storage" are similar browser features that let a site remember small pieces of information on your device. We describe both here because we use both.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These keep you signed in and keep the site secure. They cannot be switched off through the site because the signed-in parts of the website would not work without them.
- Authentication and session cookies set by our authentication provider (Supabase) when you sign in — they hold your session token and a refresh token so you stay signed in between pages and visits, and are cleared when you sign out.
- A short-lived code-verifier cookie used only during the sign-in / email-confirmation exchange.
3. Functional local storage
The website stores a few preferences in your browser's local or session storage so features behave sensibly. This data stays in your browser, is not sent to us as a tracking signal, and you can clear it any time from your browser settings.
- Unsaved code you have typed in the online Compiler and Coding Problem editors, and your last-used language, so a refresh does not lose your work.
- A short-lived hand-off value used when you send a code snippet from a lesson to the Compiler.
- A flag remembering that you dismissed an announcement banner, so it does not reappear on every page.
4. Payment provider cookies
When you make a payment, the checkout is opened by our payment processor, Razorpay Software Private Limited. Their checkout may set its own cookies on their domain to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. Those cookies are controlled by Razorpay Software Private Limited under their own policy: https://razorpay.com/privacy/. They are only involved when you actively start a payment.
5. What we do not use
- No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or other third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- No advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No fingerprinting, and no selling or sharing of browsing data.
6. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies and clear local storage in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies described in section 2, you will not be able to sign in or use your account, but the public pages (projects, jobs, learning, legal pages) will still work.
Because we do not run advertising or analytics cookies, there is no separate consent banner to manage — there is nothing non-essential to opt out of.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add any cookie or storage that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. The version and date at the top of this page show when it last changed.
