Project License Policy
Version 1.0.0 · Last updated 31 August 2026
This is the same policy shown in the CampusEduX mobile app.
This Project License Policy explains the rights you receive when you obtain a project through CampusEduX — whether a ready-made marketplace project or a Custom Project — and the restrictions that always apply. It forms part of the Terms & Conditions. The specific category and any terms shown at the time of purchase take precedence where they are more specific.
Unless a Custom Project's written terms expressly assign ownership to you, CampusEduX and its licensors retain all intellectual-property rights in the project, and you receive a license to use it — not ownership of the underlying code, design or materials.
1. Academic Project license
- Granted to a single named student for learning and for their own academic submission (mini-project, major project, lab work, internship report).
- You may study, run, modify and extend the project, and submit your adapted version as your academic work where your institution permits, provided you understand and can explain it.
- You may not sell, share, sub-license or distribute the project or its source to classmates or third parties, upload it to a public repository or website, or supply it to another student as their submission.
- You must comply with your institution's academic-integrity rules. CampusEduX is not responsible for how you use the project in an academic context.
2. Personal Project license
- Granted to one individual for personal, non-commercial use — learning, portfolio, experimentation and personal (non-revenue) projects.
- You may modify and host it for personal demonstration and include it in a portfolio, with attribution retained where present.
- You may not use it to provide a commercial product or service, resell or redistribute it, or share the source with others.
3. Business / Commercial Project license
- Granted to one individual or one business entity to build and operate a commercial product or internal tool.
- You may deploy it in production, modify it, and use it to generate revenue within your own business.
- You may not resell or redistribute the project itself (or a lightly modified copy) as a template, boilerplate, course or competing product; sub-license the source to third parties; or publish the source publicly.
- The license covers use by one business. A separate purchase is required for a separate business or a resale/redistribution right.
4. Custom Project license
The license or ownership for a Custom Project is set out in the written scope/terms agreed for that project after your request is received. Depending on what is agreed and paid for, you may receive a commercial-use license or an assignment of ownership in the delivered work.
Until the agreed amounts are paid in full, any interim materials are provided under a limited evaluation license only. Third-party components, libraries and assets included in a Custom Project remain under their own licenses.
5. Restrictions that always apply
- No reselling, redistributing, sub-licensing or bundling of paid project source code.
- No uploading paid source code to public repositories, forums, Telegram/Discord groups, file-sharing sites or any public location.
- No claiming authorship of another person's work, or presenting a purchased project as wholly your own original creation where that would be dishonest.
- No removing, obscuring or altering copyright, license or attribution notices where they are required to be kept.
- No using projects to build a service that redistributes or resells the projects themselves.
- No use that infringes third-party rights or breaks the law.
6. Number of users and transfers
Each purchase licenses one student, individual or business as described above. Licenses are personal to the buyer and may not be transferred, rented or lent without our written consent.
7. Third-party components
Projects may include open-source libraries, frameworks, fonts, images or sample data owned by others and provided under their own licenses. Those components remain under those licenses, and you are responsible for complying with them.
8. Termination of a license
A project license ends if you breach this policy or the Terms, or if your account is terminated for cause. On termination you must stop using and delete copies of the project, except where a Custom Project's written terms grant you a surviving right. Sections on intellectual property and restrictions survive termination.
9. Enforcement
Unauthorised resale, redistribution or public posting of paid content is a serious violation. We may revoke your licenses, suspend or terminate your account, reverse related rewards or wallet amounts, and pursue remedies available under law. Report suspected piracy of CampusEduX content to legal@campusedux.app.
